About The Position

Amentum is seeking an Air Intercept Controller (AIC) for a position on Kauai, HI. This position will provide operational support to Program Managers by providing independent tactical control (Close, Broadcast, or Advisory) while managing multiple fixed-wing and/or rotary-wing aircraft during live or simulated missions. Requires comprehensive expertise in tactical weapons control procedures, radar theory, radio communications, and flight safety protocols. Candidates must be able to get certified in accordance with PMRFINST 3722.1.

Requirements

  • High School of equivalent
  • Must be a graduate of a formal Military Tactical Air Control course with verifiable certification on record
  • Requires demonstrated expertise in tactical control, radar theory, and aviation communication
  • Must possess the interpersonal and communication skills necessary to coordinate effectively with aircrews, range personnel, and government counterparts
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance.
  • US Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a US Government Security Investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in mission planning meetings to capture detailed operational requirements.
  • Coordinates with government counterparts and cross-functional teams to finalize missile line-ups, firing safety zones, and target scenarios.
  • Executes tactical control of multiple aircraft by interpreting real-time radar data across analog and digital display systems.
  • Communicate with aircraft using proper radio transmission procedures and protocols.
  • Delivers mission-essential flight data and real-time deconfliction to ensure objective achievement and safe aircraft separation within the operating area.
  • Records and manages detailed logs of all aircraft movements and activities on the Range.
  • Utilize radar and multi-sensor display systems in support of Range Operations.
  • Rapidly adapts to evolving mission requirements and real-time operational shifts.
  • Maintains continuous surveillance of assigned operational areas and provides immediate notification to the Range Control Officer (RCO) regarding any unauthorized aircraft or vessel incursions.
  • This position requires the attainment of dual-qualification as a Range Contractor Coordinator through comprehensive cross-training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Manager and/or Supervisor.
