About The Position

The individual will be the communication bridge between the import department, dispatch department, warehouse, airport pick up agent and airlines. This role involves managing incoming shipments, coordinating with various parties, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring customer Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

High School Diploma
1-3 years in a dispatch or truck brokerage environment
Experience negotiating rates and booking Dry Vans, Straight Trucks, and Sprinter/Cargo Vans with carriers
Good working knowledge of Excel
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced working environment
Good Can-Do Attitude
Good Time Management with attention to detail
Detail-oriented individual
Ability to maintain a good positive attitude towards employees, customers, and carriers
Willingness to go the extra mile to get the job done
Must have a good driving record
Must have your own personal vehicle
Must be able to run to the airport cargo area for cargo inspections
Must be able to work extended hours when needed

Responsibilities

Serve as the communication bridge between the import department, dispatch department, warehouse, airport pick up agent, and airlines.
Dispatch airport recovery agent for all incoming shipments for MEC ORD.
Update and maintain Excel pick up list multiple times throughout the day for visibility.
Update system when cargo arrives at the warehouse.
Process airline payments through Paycargo or other necessary methods.
File pre-claims with airlines/freight handlers for damages.
Ensure all customer KPIs are met daily.
Perform load planning and build loads, communicating with team members for consolidation opportunities.
Build and maintain relationships with carriers.
Negotiate and book trucks in a cost-effective manner while meeting customer requirements and ensuring on-time delivery.
Create BOLs/Delivery Orders, ensuring Customs Clearances are obtained before releasing goods.
Enter milestones into the Morrison system in a timely manner.
Respond to emails in a timely and professional manner.
Track and trace orders and upload POD information into the system upon delivery.
Approve invoices.
Conduct cargo inspections at the airport cargo area.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
