About The Position

This role involves coordinating and managing air import shipments from origin through final delivery. Key responsibilities include carrier booking, documentation, customs clearance, and daily communication with various stakeholders to ensure timely and compliant movement of goods. The agent will also be responsible for preparing and auditing shipping documents, tracking shipments, resolving issues, and maintaining strong relationships with logistics partners. Providing clients and partners with status updates and maintaining organized files are also crucial aspects of the job.

Requirements

  • Experience in coordinating and managing air import shipments.
  • Proficiency in carrier booking, documentation, and customs clearance.
  • Strong communication skills for daily interaction with overseas offices, airlines, ground handlers, and customs brokers.
  • Ability to prepare, review, and audit shipping documents.
  • Skills in tracking and tracing shipments and resolving issues.
  • Knowledge of CBP, TSA, and other regulatory requirements for air import cargo.
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships with logistics partners.
  • Ability to provide timely and accurate shipment status updates.
  • Proficiency in maintaining organized files within a company's operating system.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage air import shipments from origin through final delivery, including carrier booking, documentation, and customs clearance.
  • Communicate daily with overseas offices, airlines, ground handlers, and customs brokers to ensure shipments move on time and in full compliance with regulations.
  • Prepare, review, and audit shipping documents such as air waybills, commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs entries for accuracy.
  • Track and trace shipments in transit, proactively identifying and resolving delays, discrepancies, or exceptions before they impact the customer.
  • Coordinate customs clearance and ensure compliance with CBP, TSA, and other applicable regulatory requirements for air import cargo.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with airlines, drayage providers, warehouses, and customs brokers serving the Los Angeles/Long Beach gateway.
  • Provide clients, sales teams, and overseas partners with timely, accurate shipment status updates, and maintain organized, up-to-date files within the company's operating system.
