About The Position

This position is for an experienced individual to join the Air Force Readiness Division and support the Global Force Management Team, A33D. The specialist will focus on facilitating collaborative readiness reporting efforts, supporting Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS) modernization, and leveraging expertise in Global Force Management (GFM). This role requires effective coordination between directorates and stakeholders, application of readiness reporting expertise, and contribution to operational objectives crucial for the A33D mission. The specialist will act as a key liaison between A33R and A33D, ensuring accurate and timely input for readiness reports, including the Semi-Annual Readiness Report to Congress, the Joint Forces Readiness Review, and the Strategic Readiness Assessment. The candidate will analyze and refine reporting processes to enhance the quality of readiness data, contributing to informed decision-making across all phases of Air Force operations. Additionally, the individual will support DRRS modernization efforts by ensuring alignment with A33D requirements. They will serve as the primary point of contact to relay requirements to the Research, Testing, Development, and Evaluation (RTD&E) team, communicate Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) to A33D, and facilitate the implementation of changes that improve system performance and usability. Leveraging a comprehensive understanding of the GFM process, including the Secretary of Defense Orders Book, the specialist will play an integral role in supporting A33D’s workload. They will also maintain a baseline understanding of Deliberate and Crisis Action Planning and Execution Segments (DCAPES) to assist with force planning, operational workload distribution, and achieving strategic readiness objectives.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the DCAPES system, including its applications in Air Force war planning and execution, as well as its interface with JOPES through near real-time automated data exchange services.
  • In-depth understanding of Air Force personnel and force management policies, including AF/A33D oversight of DCAPES UTC Availability (UTA), AFFORGEN capabilities, and Air Component Headquarters’ management of Unit Line Numbers (ULNs) in DCAPES and JOPES.
  • Strong knowledge of Air Force readiness reporting principles, processes, and systems, including DRRS.
  • Familiarity with Functional Area Manager (FAM) roles and responsibilities in force planning, readiness reporting, and policy development, particularly in relation to OFAMO functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct cross-functional coordination among diverse teams, including operations, logistics, manpower, personnel, and MEFPAK-related functions.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely present complex information to diverse audiences, including senior leadership and technical stakeholders.
  • Proven experience briefing and presenting to senior leadership.
  • Professional background in readiness and global force management, with relevant experience in roles such as Unit Deployment Manager, DCAPES operator, DRRS support, or Global Force Management (GFM)-related duties.
  • Active Top SECRET security clearance.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.
