About The Position

AIER’s Graduate Fellowships are 12-week programs designed for graduate students whose work aligns with AIER's mission to promote free enterprise, economic liberty, property rights, sound money, and legal institutions that protect individual freedoms. Fellows are expected to make significant progress on a project, such as a dissertation or thesis, that contributes to their academic studies. The fellowship includes developing a project plan, presenting research to AIER staff and visitors, and sharing work publicly through AIER's website. Fellows will collaborate closely with AIER faculty to enhance skills, address research challenges, and expand professional networks. The program aims to foster intellectual and professional growth, enabling fellows to advance their projects significantly.

Requirements

  • Graduate student status.
  • Work in areas that advance AIER’s mission: free enterprise, economic liberty, property rights, sound money, and legal institutions that shore up the rights of individuals to be free to the extent that their actions do not impinge on the rights of others.
  • Ability to make substantive headway on a dissertation or thesis.
  • Willingness to craft a project plan.
  • Willingness to present research to AIER staff and visitors.
  • Willingness to share work with the general public through written pieces for AIER’s website.
  • Willingness to work closely with AIER faculty.
  • Arrive on campus for orientation by the start date.

Responsibilities

  • Make substantive headway on a dissertation or thesis that directly advances academic studies.

  • Present research to AIER staff and visitors.
  • Share work with the general public through written pieces for AIER’s website.
  • Work closely with AIER faculty to build skills, work through research issues, and build professional networks.
