About The Position

AIER’s Graduate Fellowships are 12-week programs designed for graduate students whose research aligns with AIER's mission of promoting free enterprise, economic liberty, property rights, sound money, and legal institutions that protect individual freedoms. Fellows are expected to make significant progress on a project, such as a dissertation or thesis, that contributes to their academic studies. The fellowship includes developing a project plan, presenting research to AIER staff and visitors, and sharing work publicly through written pieces for AIER's website. Fellows will collaborate closely with AIER faculty to enhance their skills, address research challenges, and expand their professional networks. The program aims to ensure fellows leave with substantial project advancement and intellectual/professional development.

Requirements

  • Graduate student status.
  • Research area must advance AIER's mission: free enterprise, economic liberty, property rights, sound money, and legal institutions that shore up the rights of individuals to be free to the extent that their actions do not impinge on the rights of others.
  • Must arrive on campus for orientation by the start date.

Responsibilities

  • Make substantive headway on a dissertation or thesis that directly advances academic studies.
  • Craft a project plan.
  • Present research to AIER staff and visitors.
  • Share work with the general public through written pieces for AIER's website.
  • Work closely with AIER faculty to build skills, work through research issues, and build professional networks.
