About The Position

To provide instructional and behavioral assistance to students served in the RISE program. This role involves assisting with all elements of the RISE program, maintaining accurate student records, implementing behavior management strategies, and monitoring student progress. The aide will also provide re-orientation and instruction to students, obtain and maintain CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification, and perform other assigned duties including SHARS duties and personal care as identified in student IEPs.

Requirements

• College hours for Title I campus 48 required or a score of 464 on the ParaPro test
• College hours 15 or high school diploma or GED (with a passing score of 464 on the ParaPro test) for Non-Title I campus
• Communicate and work with students with disabilities
• Maintain effective working relationships
• Minimum clerical skills
• Good physical and emotional condition
• Work with confidential material and student records
• Paraprofessional Educational Aide II certificate required once employed

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing all elements of RISE program
• Assist in maintaining accurate records of students in RISE program
• Assist in implementing behavior management strategies
• Assist in maintaining student records and charts for determining student progress
• Assist in providing re-orientation and instruction to students in RISE classroom
• Assist in monitoring student behaviors
• Obtain and maintain certification in the CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
• Other SHARS Duties as assigned
• Provide Personal Care as identified in applicable student IEPs
