About The Position

Brightstar Lottery is seeking an experienced AI Vision Engineer with expertise in computer vision, image processing, machine learning, and embedded systems to join our Product and Technology organization. This role is critical to the development of intelligent solutions that support Brightstar's product portfolio and next-generation technology platforms. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in C/C++ development, advanced image processing techniques, and a passion for innovation in AI and machine learning. This is a hybrid role located in West Greenwich, RI. Applicants must reside within a commutable distance of the office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience developing software solutions using C/C++, including experience in computer vision, image processing, machine learning, or related AI technologies.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing computer vision and image processing algorithms.
  • Strong understanding of image analysis, pattern recognition, machine learning, and deep learning concepts.
  • Experience with OpenCV and deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and/or PyTorch.
  • Experience developing applications in Linux environments, including system-level programming.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with embedded systems development is preferred.
  • Exposure to cloud-based development platforms such as AWS or Azure is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain high-performance software and embedded applications using C and C++.
  • Design and optimize computer vision and image processing solutions, including OCR, OMR, barcode recognition, and multispectral imaging technologies.
  • Enhance image and video quality through advanced mathematical, statistical, and computational techniques.
  • Apply machine learning and deep learning methodologies to improve image recognition, classification, and processing capabilities.
  • Build, curate, and manage image datasets used for training, validation, and performance evaluation of AI models.
  • Train, evaluate, and deploy machine learning models using frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and OpenCV.
  • Analyze and optimize solution performance, balancing accuracy, reliability, latency, and resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, including software, hardware, systems, and data science, to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies in computer vision, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to support the development of next-generation products and technology platforms.
