About The Position

We are seeking a strategic and execution focused individual to lead our AI Trust and Governance for Marsh Risk. This role is geographically flexible. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. This role reports into the Marsh Risk AI and Digital Colleague Experience leader. This is a high-impact role sits at the intersection of engineering, colleague experience, and data. Drives the evaluation, prioritization, and value realization across AI initiatives. Partners with the Regional COOs, Regional Digital Leads, Regional Data Leads and BCS colleagues to set and drive the strategic direction and technology strategy. Ensures management consistent and cohesive management reporting. Monitors availability and utilization of third-party resources globally.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in risk, governance, compliance, technology controls, or related roles.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience delivering AI/ML systems, data governance, model risk management
  • Strong understanding of AI risks and controls, including bias, explainability, data privacy, and model monitoring
  • Experience designing and implementing governance frameworks, policies, and control environments
  • Familiarity with regulatory expectations (e.g., data privacy laws, emerging AI regulations, etc.)
  • Experience partnering with Cyber Security, Privacy, Legal, Compliance, and Vendor Management functions
  • Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills
  • Proven ability to operate in cross-functional and highly matrixed organizations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., insurance, financial services, etc.)
  • Experience building and scaling AI governance from the ground up
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST AI RMF, model risk management (MRM) or similar
  • Comfort operating in matrix, global environment, influencing without authority
  • Ability to balance risk mitigation with speed, enabling innovation while maintaining strong controls
  • Experience evaluating and governing third-party AI vendors and platforms at scale
  • A pragmatic mindset focused on building usable, scalable governance within a defined privacy environment

Responsibilities

  • Operationalize the AI trust, risk, and governance framework across BCS, aligned to enterprise policies and regulatory expectations
  • Implement legal, compliance, privacy, and security requirements into practical, scalable controls, embedded within AI development and deployment workflows
  • Serve as the primary interface between BCS and partners across legal, compliance, privacy, security, and engineering
  • Establish governance model for AI use cases, including intake risk tiering, approvals, and ongoing monitoring
  • Lead executive reporting on AI risk and governance, synthesizing complex technical and regulatory topics into clear, actionable insights.
  • Enable organization through education, playbooks, and guardrails that make compliant AI development faster and more consistent
  • Partner with VMO to onboard AI vendors, ensuring third-party solutions meet internal standards for risk, privacy, security, and compliance
