About The Position

Microsoft Security is a leading global security organization focused on endpoint, identity, cloud, and data security, and is one of Microsoft's fastest-growing businesses. The organization is committed to transforming Security Engineering into an AI-first organization to effectively address the evolving threat landscape. The AI Transformation Leader, as part of the Executive Office of the EVP of Microsoft Security, plays a pivotal role in this transformation. This position is responsible for implementing the new AI-first operating model as the standard, and for establishing the programs, rituals, and change infrastructure to ensure its long-term sustainability. The role focuses on installing habits rather than launching initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 6+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement OR equivalent experience.
  • Proven ability to drive adoption through scalable resources and community engagement.
  • Proven ability to partner closely with matrixed teams and navigate across complex systems.
  • Demonstrated storytelling and content strategy skills.
  • Demonstrated experience driving large-scale behavior or technology adoption in an engineering organization.
  • Working knowledge of AI tools and workflows, and the adoption dynamics specific to engineering teams.
  • Proven program design and execution skills — from concept through measurable, sustained outcome.
  • Ability to influence engineering leaders without direct authority.
  • Ability to translate complex change into clear expectations and observable behaviors.
  • Demonstrated ability reading signal without perfect clarity, deciding at speed, and adjusting as you learn.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the end-to-end activation of the new AI-first operating model, from readiness to team-level adoption, measurement, and iteration, in close partnership with the Engineering Executive Sponsor and Engineering Leaders.
  • Partner with engineering managers and VPs to integrate AI-first behaviors into operating rhythms, expectations, and management practices.
  • Identify and systematically remove organizational, tooling, and behavioral barriers to adoption.
  • Build feedback loops to connect on-the-ground adoption realities with operating model design and product teams.
  • Design and manage the Security Frontier Enablement Lab, a structured environment for engineering teams to experiment with AI tools, agents, and workflows in low-risk, high-signal settings.
  • Produce and scale the AI & Agents Hackathon series to identify new use cases, accelerate adoption, and foster a community around AI-first practices.
  • Run Demo Day as a regular, visible forum to celebrate and share AI-first work across Security Engineering.
  • Translate the new AI-first operating model into clear behavioral expectations for managers to reinforce and engineers to act upon.
  • Develop change mechanisms to instill and sustain new habits over time.
  • Ensure the internal engineering experience aligns with the AI-first future Microsoft Security offers to customers.
  • In partnership with Engineering leaders, define and track key indicators (leading and lagging) of AI tool and operating model adoption across Security Engineering.
  • Present adoption patterns, blockers, and successes to senior leaders with clear, actionable insights.
  • Utilize data to continuously improve programs and refine future efforts.
