About The Position

Microsoft Security is a rapidly growing organization within Microsoft, focused on transforming its Security Engineering division into an AI-first entity. The AI Transformation Leader, reporting to the Executive Office of the EVP of Microsoft Security, is central to this transformation. This role is responsible for establishing and sustaining an AI-first operating model by developing the necessary programs, rituals, and change infrastructure. The focus is on installing durable habits rather than launching new initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 6+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement OR equivalent experience.
  • Proven ability to drive adoption through scalable resources and community engagement.
  • Proven ability to partner closely with matrixed teams and navigate across complex systems.
  • Demonstrated storytelling and content strategy skills.
  • Demonstrated experience driving large-scale behavior or technology adoption in an engineering organization.
  • Working knowledge of AI tools and workflows, and the adoption dynamics specific to engineering teams.
  • Proven program design and execution skills — from concept through measurable, sustained outcome.
  • Ability to influence engineering leaders without direct authority.
  • Ability to translate complex change into clear expectations and observable behaviors.
  • Demonstrated ability reading signal without perfect clarity, deciding at speed, and adjusting as you learn.

Responsibilities

  • Activate the new AI-first operating model end-to-end, managing readiness, team adoption, measurement, and iteration in collaboration with executive sponsors and engineering leaders.
  • Partner with engineering managers and VPs to integrate AI-first behaviors into regular operating rhythms, expectations, and management practices.
  • Identify and remove organizational, tooling, and behavioral barriers to AI adoption.
  • Establish feedback loops to connect on-the-ground adoption realities with operating model design and product teams.
  • Design and manage the Security Frontier Enablement Lab for teams to experiment with AI tools, agents, and workflows in controlled environments.
  • Produce and scale the AI & Agents Hackathon series to discover new use cases, accelerate adoption, and foster a community around AI-first practices.
  • Run Demo Day as a regular forum to showcase and celebrate AI-first work across Security Engineering.
  • Translate the AI-first operating model into clear behavioral expectations for managers and engineers.
  • Build and implement change mechanisms to instill and sustain new habits over time.
  • Ensure the internal engineering experience aligns with the AI-first future Microsoft Security offers to customers.
  • Define and track key indicators of AI tool and operating model adoption in partnership with engineering leaders.
  • Communicate adoption patterns, blockers, and successes to senior leaders with actionable insights.
  • Utilize data to continuously refine programs and prioritize future efforts.
