About The Position

Leidos’ Defense Systems is seeking a Hypersonic Systems Assembly, Integration, and Test Technician Lead to join our team supporting the Multi-Service Advanced Capability Hypersonics Test Bed (MACH-TB) Flight Test Program. The focus of the MACH-TB Program is to develop rapid-cadence, affordable flight-testing capabilities to quickly advance the Technology Readiness Level of our nation’s hypersonic technologies.

Requirements

High school diploma
5+ years of experience in mechanical, manufacturing, or flight test environment
Strong technical background in defense systems (or subsystems)
Strong verbal and written skills
Solid practical knowledge of complex missile or space systems, system integration, and associated testing
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with program leadership (internal/client) on matters of strategic importance to the organization/project
Capability of performing in a collaborative engineering environment, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams
Organizational skills to document work and interface with team members to ensure flow of information
Must be a resident of North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville – North Alabama area
Must be a US Citizen
Must possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance

Nice To Haves

Experience with prototype production efforts
Experience with missile or hypersonic development, flight testing and range safety
Experience performing risk management, test planning and/or proposal development

Responsibilities

Interface directly with program management, military and other government personnel, and teams of multi-disciplined design and development engineers and technicians, both internal and external.
Make decisions related to the day-to-day operations of assembly, integration, and testing of the MACH-TB test vehicles.
Troubleshoot NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports).
Work out schedule conflicts between Production and Test.
Work to obtain hardware required for assembly.
Navigate procurement issues with hardware assigned to various programs.
Overcome issues with limited availability/obsolescence.
Write/modify/red-line work instructions.
