About The Position

Leidos’ Defense Systems is seeking a Hypersonic Systems Assembly, Integration, and Test Technician Lead to join our team supporting the Multi-Service Advanced Capability Hypersonics Test Bed (MACH-TB) Flight Test Program. The focus of the MACH-TB Program is to develop rapid-cadence, affordable flight-testing capabilities to quickly advance the Technology Readiness Level of our nation’s hypersonic technologies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical, manufacturing, or flight test environment
  • Strong technical background in defense systems (or subsystems)
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Solid practical knowledge of complex missile or space systems, system integration, and associated testing
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with program leadership (internal/client) on matters of strategic importance to the organization/project
  • Capability of performing in a collaborative engineering environment, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Organizational skills to document work and interface with team members to ensure flow of information
  • Must be a resident of North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville – North Alabama area
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with prototype production efforts
  • Experience with missile or hypersonic development, flight testing and range safety
  • Experience performing risk management, test planning and/or proposal development

Responsibilities

  • Interface directly with program management, military and other government personnel, and teams of multi-disciplined design and development engineers and technicians, both internal and external.
  • Make decisions related to the day-to-day operations of assembly, integration, and testing of the MACH-TB test vehicles.
  • Troubleshoot NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports).
  • Work out schedule conflicts between Production and Test.
  • Work to obtain hardware required for assembly.
  • Navigate procurement issues with hardware assigned to various programs.
  • Overcome issues with limited availability/obsolescence.
  • Write/modify/red-line work instructions.
