Our team is currently seeking a Validation Test Technician for our lab developing new, cutting-edge GPU technology and AI racks to drive the local execution of standardized workflows. You will work closely with cross-functional partner teams including local Site Engineering, Lab teams, NPI, Services teams and Lab Managers. You will be a key part of our Secaucus NJ campus team and can expect a standard work schedule Monday - Friday with occasional weekend work opportunities.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands on experience testing and troubleshooting semiconductor GPUs, switches and CPUs in a semiconductor lab environment or reliability testing facility.
  • Previous experience working on server racks and datacenter.
  • Experience with MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated effective and collaborative communication and teamwork experience
  • Experience and ability to work autonomously and also collaboratively within a team environment to support Lab teams, Engineering, NPI, and Services
  • Work with lab tools (e.g.: diagnostics, tests, and standard semiconductor industry hardware and software)
  • Experience with Windows Server OS
  • Experience with Linux PXE services a plus
  • High attention to detail, and commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

  • Install systems into racks; connect to power, make network connections; position new racks into test cells; assist with rack moves.
  • Configuring switches (basic configuration)
  • Connecting rack to liquid cooling CDUs
  • Racking and un-racking servers; general shipping of racks and servers in and out of the labs
  • Support system material needs in labs (setup, staging, and day-to-day lab operations).
  • Support test engineers with visual inspection checks (link lights, cabling configuration, LED indicators).
  • Perform internal hardware reworks and component swaps (CPU, GPU, memory, storage).
  • Configure and support liquid cooling sidecars (connections, verification, basic bring-up support).
  • Perform basic network connectivity debugging (IP addressing, switch link status, configuration, speed, topology confirmation).
  • Minor repairs and re-seats
  • Arranging for FA and other techs to major troubleshooting and reworks
  • Receiving and sending shipments to and from other departments
  • Maintain inventory control of lab materials (network cables, lab laptops, tools, transceivers).
  • Cooling and power requirements for upcoming projects
  • Power whips, fiber and copper cables for uplinks and BMC connections
  • Transceivers for uplinks
  • Generally keeping cables, switches, PDUs, etc. for general lab operation
  • Having proper lifting equipment available
  • Hand and power tools available for repairs and installs
  • Keeping the labs clutter free, returning unused parts.
  • Arranging maintenance to sweep and mop the floors
  • Dealing with ESD protection
  • Monitoring and mitigating heat and spillage (even after hours)
  • Coordinating with the facilities for power and network outages and general maintenance
