AI Strategy Associate

Iovance Biotherapeutics
$100,000 - $125,000Remote

About The Position

Iovance Biotherapeutics is a commercial-stage cell therapy company focused on developing life-saving cancer immunotherapies. We are building an internal AI Strategy & Operations function to drive measurable cost savings and operational efficiency across the entire organization. We are looking for an AI Strategy Associate to drive process discovery and optimization across Iovance. This role is the analytical engine of our AI program. You will run a comprehensive diagnostic across 15 business functions, build the financial models that translate use cases into P&L savings commitments, and manage stakeholder relationships across the company. Think of this as the operating-side equivalent of a top-tier consulting engagement. You will interview stakeholders, map pain points to savings levers, build controlled comparisons to prove AI impact, and deliver a financial model the CFO can underwrite. In this role, you will own the outcomes, not just the recommendation. Unlike traditional analyst roles, the successful applicant is required to be adept at using AI tools, be able to identify AI solutions and even build quick prototypes where required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related analytical field. MBA or Master’s degree is a plus but not required if experience is strong.
  • Must be an avid user of AI Tools and have a comprehensive understanding of the AI landscape.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in management consulting , corporate strategy, FP&A, or business operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build financial models from scratch. You should be able to take messy inputs from multiple sources and produce a defensible savings estimate.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills. You will interview VPs, department heads, and C-suite executives. You need to ask sharp questions, listen carefully, and translate qualitative pain into quantitative impact.
  • Experience conducting structured interviews or diagnostic assessments across multiple business functions. Consulting-style discovery is exactly what this role requires.
  • Excellent written communication. You will produce use case specifications, governance briefs, and executive summaries that need to be clear, specific, and actionable.
  • Proficiency in Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, scenario analysis) and PowerPoint (executive-ready presentations).
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Nobody will give you a project plan — you will build the project plan.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare environments is a major asset.
  • Experience using AI tools to build working prototypes, dashboards, or simple applications.
  • Experience with procurement analytics, SaaS rationalization, or vendor management optimization.
  • Familiarity with data visualization or business intelligence tools for presenting financial analysis to executives.
  • Understanding of regulated environments (GxP, FDA).

Responsibilities

  • Help build a comprehensive AI use case diagnostic across all business functions. Conduct structured stakeholder interviews, identify AI-addressable pain points, and document use cases with enough detail for technical teams to build from.
  • Build and maintain the AI savings model — a lever-by-lever, P&L-line-by-P&L-line financial model that quantifies the savings potential of validated AI use cases.
  • Design and execute controlled comparisons (human-only vs. AI-assisted, same task, same inputs) to validate that AI solutions deliver the time, quality, or error-rate improvements the financial model assumes.
  • Manage the use case prioritization framework. Score and rank use cases against savings levers, implementation feasibility, and time-to-value. Enforce the gate: no P&L mapping means no prioritization.
  • Write use case specifications detailed enough for the development team to build from — including user workflow, success metrics, integration requirements, and savings methodology.
  • Build rough prototypes and proof-of-concept demos using AI tools (Claude, Cursor, or similar) to validate use cases with stakeholders before passing them to engineering. You do not need to be a developer, but you should be able to vibe-code a working demo that shows “this is what it could look like” and gets real user reactions.
  • Support the AI governance process by preparing use case briefs for governance committee review, documenting approval decisions, and tracking maturity-level progression for deployed solutions.
  • Supervise and quality-check the work of AI Transformation Interns conducting discovery interviews and cost audits.
  • Must adhere to Iovance Biotherapeutics’ core values, policies, procedures, and business ethics.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
