About The Position

Design and implement effective AI solution architecture or strategy utilizing approaches of various AI technologies and methods to address clients' business problems and needs, while complying with the organization’s strategies and business goals, and key ethical considerations. Apply advanced theories, principles, and concepts, and contribute to the development of new principles and concepts. Lead the development of solutions to highly complex problems. Work with a wide latitude for unreviewed action or decision, and be responsible for the supervision and development of first-level supervisors or managers.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience designing and delivering AI / ML or data‑intensive systems
  • 5+ years of experience in architecture or technical leadership roles
  • Experience with cloud‑native architecture, including AWS such as Bedrock, SageMaker, EKS, IAM or KMS, networking, and observability
  • Experience briefing executive stakeholders and simplifying complex technical concepts
  • Knowledge of modern AI and LLM technologies, including retrieval methods, model fine‑tuning approaches, quantization or distillation, RL / RLAIF concepts, evaluation techniques, and guardrail patterns
  • Ability to lead engineering teams and dive into code or architectures, when necessary
  • Ability to design AI architectures that are secure, scalable, cost‑aware, and aligned to DoW operational constraints
  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting DoW clients or other federal mission environments
  • Experience with LangChain or LangGraph, vector stores such as FAISS, Pinecone, and Weaviate, and high‑throughput serving, including vLLM and Ray Serve
  • Experience with multi‑cloud, including AWS, Azure OpenAI, GCP Vertex AI, and Oracle
  • Experience with enterprise data platforms such as Databricks or Salesforce
  • Experience with public speaking, authorship of whitepapers, conference talks, or similar thought leadership
  • Experience hiring for, building, or leading technical teams
  • Knowledge of AI governance, model risk management, NIST frameworks, and DoW security policies
  • Possession of excellent communication skills
