About The Position

Tradeweb is seeking an AI Software Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. This internship offers a blend of classroom learning and project-based work, allowing interns to gain practical, hands-on experience with the firm's products and services. Interns will collaborate with technologists and business experts, receiving guidance from individuals at all organizational levels. The role focuses on integrating intelligent systems with electronic trading workflows and modernizing the core tech stack. Ideal candidates are curious, eager to learn, and enjoy exploring system communication, full-stack development, and AI integration with enterprise infrastructure.

Requirements

• Full-Stack Foundations: Comfort working across front-end and backend development, connecting user interfaces with services.
• Backend & Enterprise Skills: Solid grounding in Java, Spring Boot, and general software engineering principles.
• AI & Agent Ecosystem: Hands-on project experience or familiarity with Python, LangChain, LLM orchestration, and building multi-step or tool-calling AI agents.
• Cloud & DevOps Exposure: Understanding of containerization and orchestration via Kubernetes and AWS EKS, alongside familiarity with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Visibility & Scale: An interest in AI application observability like LangSmith, agent optimization focused on lowering latency, and scaling applications safely under load.
• Curiosity: Drive to dive into unfamiliar codebases, ask questions, read documentation, and figure things out by building.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering teams to write code across front-end and backend layers, modernizing legacy systems into agile, cloud-native services.
• Prototype and test autonomous agent behaviors that solve technical and operational challenges.
• Gain hands-on exposure to deploying and managing containerized services on AWS EKS using GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Share discoveries, absorb feedback from mentors, and contribute to pushing the boundaries of enterprise engineering.
