About The Position
Tradeweb is seeking an AI Software Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. This internship offers hands-on experience in modern application development and cloud infrastructure, focusing on how intelligent systems can interact with complex electronic trading workflows. Interns will work with technologists and business experts, combining classroom learning with project-based work. The role involves collaborating with engineering teams to modernize legacy systems, develop agentic workflows, and gain exposure to deploying and managing containerized services on AWS EKS. The program emphasizes continuous learning, feedback absorption, and pushing the boundaries of enterprise engineering.
Requirements
- Comfort working across a mix of front-end and backend development, connecting intuitive user interfaces with robust services.
- Solid grounding in Java, Spring Boot, and general software engineering principles.
- Hands-on project experience or familiarity with Python, LangChain, LLM orchestration, and building multi-step or tool-calling AI agents.
- Understanding of containerization and orchestration via Kubernetes and AWS EKS, alongside familiarity with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- An interest in AI application observability like LangSmith, agent optimization focused on lowering latency, and scaling applications safely under load.
- Curiosity and a drive to dive into unfamiliar codebases, ask questions, read documentation, and figure things out by building.
Responsibilities
- Partner with engineering teams to write code across front-end and backend layers, helping modernize legacy systems into agile, cloud-native services.
- Prototype and test autonomous agent behaviors that solve actual technical and operational challenges.
- Gain hands-on exposure to deploying and managing containerized services on AWS EKS using GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Share discoveries, absorb feedback from mentors, and help push the boundaries of reliable enterprise engineering.
