About The Position

The AI Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing AI-powered capabilities using Large Language Models (LLMs) across LogIT applications within the portfolio. This role involves developing and integrating conversational interfaces, copilots, and intelligent assistants into logistics and operational systems. The engineer will build and maintain retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, implement prompt engineering techniques, and integrate AI capabilities into existing systems using APIs, microservices, and middleware. Collaboration with Product Owners, system engineers, and stakeholders is key to supporting AI use cases. The position requires participation in daily team meetings, execution of workload within project management tools like JIRA and Confluence, and supporting the monitoring and evaluation of LLM performance. Adherence to security, data governance, and Responsible AI standards is mandatory, along with contributing to reusable AI components and shared engineering practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5-10 years’ equivalent experience.
  • Three (3)-Five (5) years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience developing applications using modern programming languages (e.g., .NET, Python, Java, or similar).
  • Experience integrating or working with LLM APIs (e.g., Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Google Gemini).
  • Hold or have the ability to acquire a government security clearance; requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Knowledge of LLM concepts including prompt engineering, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
  • Knowledge of APIs and microservices-based system integration.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based AI platforms.
  • Ability to develop AI-enabled features within LogIT and enterprise systems.
  • Ability to analyze and translate technical and business requirements into functional AI solutions.
  • Ability to evaluate AI outputs and apply improvements for accuracy and reliability.
