About The Position

The personalization data engineering team at Netflix is responsible for building large, web-scale datasets that are crucial for improving the member experience. These datasets serve as essential inputs for machine learning algorithms that power the exceptional experiences members enjoy. Given the scale, complexity, and importance of these datasets, we are seeking a Software Engineer with a strong analytical mindset and experience in modern distributed systems. In this role, you will be instrumental in advancing big data processing by contributing to and enhancing the team’s data products and frameworks. You will also collaborate closely with world-class algorithm teams to foster continuous improvement and innovation in Netflix personalization.

Requirements

Expertise in building production data systems (using Spark, Flink, etc.) on web-scale datasets.
Proficiency in at least one major programming language (e.g. Java, Scala) and ability to pick up new tech skills independently.
Hands-on experience with schema design and data modeling, with an unmistakable passion for elegant and intuitive dataset design.
A passion for engineering excellence and tolerance for ambiguity in a fast-paced setting.
Ability to be independent and allocate time judiciously, employing organizational context to resolve competing priorities.
Ability to strategically partner with diverse stakeholders to drive innovation.
Ability to drive change and influence others through clear and effective communication.
