About The Position

The Architect Who Closes the Gap. The Engineer Who Makes Silicon Inevitable. This role is for an Architect who will close the gap between AI models, AI infrastructure, and silicon architecture. The individual will own the technical contract between AI workload demands, software system expression, and custom silicon delivery. This is a high-leverage engineering seat focused on ensuring custom silicon is purpose-built for AI workloads. The role involves translating workload needs into concrete hardware requirements, bridging model engineering, AI infrastructure, and silicon architecture teams, and ensuring software accessibility to hardware innovations. Performance modeling and real workload validation are key aspects, with the goal of turning uncertainty into data-driven direction and aligning diverse technical teams.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of industry experience across AI, systems, or silicon
  • Proven experience at the intersection of hardware and intelligent compute systems
  • Hardware/software co-design leadership across full product cycles
  • Demonstrated performance modeling expertise — analytical, simulation, or cycle-approximate
  • Track record of influencing architectural and product decisions across multiple technical organizations
  • Exceptional written communication and technical specification ability
  • Strong Python and C++ skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with custom silicon, accelerators, or advanced hardware platforms
  • Prior involvement in ISA definition, memory hierarchy design, or accelerator roadmap decisions

Responsibilities

  • Analyze workload specific test cases tailored to real-world applications using LLM's, multi modal systems, signal processing pipelines, inference engines - and translate them into concrete hardware requirements that can be implemented.
  • Act as a bridge connecting model engineering, AI infrastructure, and silicon architecture teams to ensure hardware investments are architecturally sound and software-accessible.
  • Build and create performance modeling environments that determine compute investments, memory hierarchy decisions, and feature prioritization.
  • Profile real workloads on real and future platforms to identify bottlenecks in memory, compute, scheduling, and architecture, and feed these findings into the next hardware and software cycle.
  • Translate between hardware architects, AI researchers, and infrastructure teams, grounding product decisions in real workloads, measurable constraints, and practical execution paths.
