About The Position

As an AI Scientist on the Enterprise Advanced Analytics and Artificial Intelligence team, you'll be at the forefront of developing and implementing cutting-edge AI solutions across CIBC. You'll leverage your expertise in Python, FastAPI, and API development to build scalable systems that automate the extraction of data elements from complex forms. Your role will focus on working with various large language models (LLMs), including prompt engineering and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), to optimize and customize AI capabilities for business needs. You will also contribute to agentic AI initiatives and incorporate advanced reasoning and summarization capabilities into our solutions. You'll lead LLM fine-tuning and customization initiatives, ensuring our AI solutions are robust, accurate, and tailored to enterprise requirements. Collaboration will be key as you partner with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and advance CIBC’s data-driven culture. Requirements

Proficient in Python coding, FastAPI, API development, and have hands-on experience with Documine or similar tools.
Practical knowledge in working with large language models, including prompt engineering, RAG, customization, and fine-tuning.
Enjoy exploring new AI and machine learning techniques, applying them to automate processes and extract meaningful insights from data.
Thrive in cross-functional environments, working closely with diverse teams to achieve shared goals.
Hold a degree or diploma in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Currently enrolled in post-secondary education and returning to full-time studies.
Legally eligible to work at the location(s) specified and, where applicable, must have a valid work or study permit.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and deploy AI-powered applications using Python, FastAPI, and APIs to automate data extraction, reasoning and summarization from forms.
Lead efforts to customize and fine-tune large language models, enhancing performance and relevance for enterprise use cases.
Develop and optimize prompts for LLMs, and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation strategies to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Work closely with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver impactful AI solutions.
Stay current with advancements in AI and machine learning, applying new techniques to solve business challenges.
