About The Position

ABB is hiring an AI Robotics Intern for Fall 2026 in its Robotics business. The intern will gain practical experience through project work, carrying out assigned tasks and supporting ABB’s operations while developing technical skills. The position reports to an R&D Senior Engineer and follows an onsite/hybrid work model in San Jose, California. The intern will work on AI algorithms for robotics perception and assess emerging AI technologies for industrial robotics applications. The role combines software and hardware work, including developing and evaluating models, analyzing data, setting up and testing robotic systems, and supporting experiments and system integration. The intern will collaborate with robotics, perception, and software engineers to help integrate AI models into production-ready systems, evaluate their performance, and communicate findings through documentation, design reviews, and presentations. The expected hourly rate is $20–$34, depending on factors such as qualifications, graduation year, and experience. U.S. internships at ABB are not eligible for company-sponsored medical benefits, 401(k) contributions, or paid time off.
