About The Position

The Sales Intern works within the earliest stages of Cogent Analytics’ sales process and learns how identifying an ideal client profile, building and maintaining a prospect database, and engaging prospects contribute to revenue and growth. The intern works day-to-day alongside sales leadership and is exposed to the outside sales team (Regional Vice Presidents), without traveling or working in the field. The position is based in the Greensboro, North Carolina office and requires at least 20 hours per week during office hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The internship follows the sales process from marketing’s definition of the ideal client, through database development and inside-sales outreach, to outside sales converting appointments into revenue. The intern performs applied database and time-tracking work and observes outbound calling and sales-management conversations. Under direct supervision from sales leadership, the student can trace how work across these functions contributes to revenue generation and how problems at any stage can affect sales performance. The internship is suited to students majoring in Sales, Marketing, or Business Administration. Cogent Analytics is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The company may use AI tools to support parts of hiring, but final hiring decisions are made by humans.
