About The Position

The Applied Grid Innovation (AGI) team at GE Vernova explores AI technologies for electric utilities and power-grid operations. This intern will contribute to research and prototyping that combines power-system expertise with advanced AI to develop operational solutions for an AI-native grid. The role focuses on researching and testing post-training techniques for foundation models, improving their performance on utility-specific tasks, and evaluating their accuracy, behavior, and domain adaptation. The intern will also support dataset and training-pipeline development, analyze performance, cost, and operational tradeoffs, collaborate with AI researchers and software engineers, and present findings and recommendations. The position is based in Bellevue, Washington, and is scheduled for May through August 2027.
