AI-Native B2B Senior Content Manager

Team 201Chicago, IL

About The Position

Team 201 is seeking an AI-native B2B Content Manager to create high-performing content and manage the system that brings it to life. This role requires a strong writer adept at both long-form and short-form content, who can also manage an efficient production queue involving full-time team members, fractional specialists, and AI-powered workflows. The ideal candidate will translate complex B2B technology ideas into clear, compelling content that drives action, while also owning the operational engine behind content production, including intake, priorities, assignments, reviews, approvals, and deadlines. This position combines the instincts of a conversion copywriter, the strategic judgment of a B2B content strategist, and the rigor of a content operations lead.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 6–8 years of experience creating and managing content for B2B technology companies.
  • A portfolio demonstrating excellent short-form and long-form writing across multiple formats.
  • Strong conversion-copywriting instincts and an understanding of how content supports pipeline, revenue, and customer growth.
  • Experience identifying and tracking KPIs across content motions, and shifting strategy based on data.
  • Experience translating technical or complex subject matter into accessible, differentiated messaging.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume production queue involving multiple contributors and stakeholders.
  • Experience directing and editing freelance, fractional, or internal creative resources.
  • Fluency with modern AI tools and hands-on experience building repeatable AI-assisted content workflows.
  • Strong editorial judgment, including the ability to recognize generic, inaccurate, or off-brand AI output.
  • Experience supporting B2B social media strategy, content production, and client relationships.
  • The ability to confidently participate in client conversations, present recommendations, and navigate feedback.
  • Excellent prioritization, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where priorities, formats, and client needs can shift quickly.
  • The ability to operate as both a hands-on individual contributor and the person accountable for keeping the broader system moving.

Nice To Haves

  • Thinks about the buyer and desired action before beginning to write.
  • Can absorb unfamiliar subject matter quickly and ask sharp questions.
  • Knows the difference between content that sounds polished and content that actually communicates something.
  • Enjoys creating a 1,500-word article as much as refining a six-word headline.
  • Can move naturally between creating the work, directing contributors, and advising clients.
  • Treats AI as part of the operating model—not a substitute for strategy, expertise, or judgment.
  • Naturally creates order around complex, multi-contributor workflows.
  • Gives direct, useful feedback that helps other creators produce better work.
  • Cares equally about the quality of the final asset and the efficiency of the process behind it.

Responsibilities

  • Write Conversion-Driven B2B Content: Translate complex technologies, products, and business ideas into clear, persuasive content across various formats including website copy, campaign messaging, thought-leadership articles, case studies, email campaigns, social media content, sales enablement materials, and video scripts.
  • Adapt content voice, depth, and technical complexity for different brands, audiences, and stages of the buyer journey, focusing on defined audience, business objective, and conversion action.
  • Interview subject-matter experts and transform their expertise into differentiated, credible content.
  • Edit and strengthen work produced by internal contributors, freelancers, and AI.
  • Run Content Production: Own the content queue from intake and prioritization through production, approval, and publication.
  • Turn strategies and campaign ideas into clear briefs, assignments, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Match projects with the appropriate full-time or fractional resource based on subject matter, format, skill set, capacity, and budget.
  • Coordinate writers, designers, strategists, video partners, subject-matter experts, and client stakeholders.
  • Maintain visibility into planned, in-progress, awaiting review, blocked, and ready-to-publish content.
  • Identify bottlenecks and keep multiple workstreams moving efficiently without sacrificing quality.
  • Establish practical standards for briefing, drafting, review, version control, approvals, and content reuse.
  • Balance deadlines and available resources across competing priorities.
  • Build AI-Native Content Systems: Determine the optimal integration of AI in research, ideation, drafting, repurposing, editing, and quality assurance.
  • Utilize AI as an embedded part of the content creation process.
  • Build and maintain reusable prompts, agents, templates, and workflows to enhance speed and consistency.
  • Create review systems to evaluate content against the brief, brand voice, audience needs, factual accuracy, and conversion objective.
  • Continuously test and adopt new AI tools and processes that offer measurable improvements.
  • Apply strong human judgment to AI-assisted output to protect quality and originality.
  • Improve Content Performance: Partner with GTM, demand generation, SEO, paid media, web, and sales stakeholders to align content with broader business goals.
  • Use performance data to identify effective messages, formats, and topics driving engagement and conversion.
  • Recommend content refreshes, repurposing, and cross-channel distribution strategies.
  • Develop systems for maximizing value from strong ideas rather than treating each deliverable as a one-off asset.
  • Enhance the team’s overall content velocity, consistency, and effectiveness.
  • Support Social Media Strategy and Content Production: Assist with strategy and content production for select B2B social media accounts.
  • Develop content themes, channel plans, and campaign ideas aligned with client audiences, brands, and GTM priorities.
  • Identify timely content opportunities based on company news, executive perspectives, industry conversations, and performance insights.
  • Write and edit social content, including short-form posts, executive thought leadership, campaign series, and paid social copy.
  • Manage the social content queue across ideation, briefing, writing, design, client review, scheduling, and publication.
  • Coordinate internal and fractional contributors to ensure efficient and on-schedule social deliverables.
  • Review social media performance and use findings to strengthen future content, messaging, and channel recommendations.
  • Provide account management support from a content perspective, including client calls, presenting ideas, managing feedback, and maintaining visibility into priorities and deliverables.
