About The Position

The AI/ML & Intelligent Automation Lead will lead AI/ML and intelligent automation capabilities from data preparation through inference, evaluation, and monitoring for a federal health program, building on its FHIR and OMOP data pipelines. The role focuses on taking capabilities from demonstrations into production and operational pilots. Integrating commercial AI/ML services is within scope; original model development is not required. The position is based in Reston, Virginia, with onsite work preferred. Candidates primarily working remotely within the United States may be considered if highly qualified and must travel frequently to Reston. Candidates must be U.S. citizens able to obtain and maintain an ADP II clearance. This opportunity is in anticipation of future work. Remote candidates must keep their camera on during the interview; if an offer is extended, the interviewer will take a picture for identification purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of AI/ML and automation capabilities into production and operational pilots.
  • Build automated data preparation and integrate model-serving or inference APIs, including commercial services.
  • Support low-latency clinical inference and natural language processing use cases, and use feature stores where appropriate.
  • Define evaluations and testable acceptance criteria; keep capabilities version-controlled and monitored in operation; and follow Government AI governance and PHI-handling requirements.
  • Work with architects on data contracts and with cybersecurity on hosting, monitoring, and security of AI services.
