AI/ML Integration Specialist

Koniag Government Services, LLC•Washington, DC
•$160,000 - $187,000

About The Position

Tuknik Government Services, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an AI/ML Integration Specialist with a Secret security clearance to support a U.S. Army customer on a large-scale contracting systems modernization and automation program in the DC Metro area. This is a contingent recruiting profile for a future new business opportunity; the opening, employing subsidiary, compensation, work location, and staffing depend on final contract authorization. The specialist shapes and governs the integration of Government-approved AI and machine learning capabilities. The role connects mission use cases, authoritative data, security boundaries, human decision points, measurable outcomes, and responsible AI controls before technical implementation. It involves planning and evaluating AI use cases and integrations, implementing safeguards for sensitive information, coordinating with technical and policy stakeholders, guiding pilots, monitoring released capabilities, and maintaining supporting documentation. Work may take place remotely when authorized, at Government facilities, or in controlled office and data-center environments. Work involving classified information or SIPRNet must occur at a Government-approved secure location using authorized systems. The role generally supports Government business hours, with occasional release, incident-response, maintenance-window, or approved travel requirements. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, information systems, or a related field; additional relevant experience may substitute for education.
  • Six or more years of technology delivery experience, including practical AI/ML solution integration and evaluation.
  • Experience integrating model services through APIs and applying responsible AI, privacy, security, human-oversight, and auditability controls.
  • Ability to translate mission workflows into measurable AI use cases and communicate tradeoffs to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • U.S. citizenship and active security clearance or eligibility required for the assigned work by the start of performance, with ongoing eligibility thereafter.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with Government, technical, and business stakeholders and maintain accurate work records in approved systems.
  • Ability to protect Controlled Unclassified Information and classified information when assigned, and comply with required access, training, and handling procedures.
  • Skills in AI use-case and integration design, responsible AI and human oversight, model evaluation and outcome measurement, secure data and API integration, and stakeholder facilitation and technical governance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AWS Bedrock, Ask Sage, GenAI.mil, Appian integrations, or comparable Government-approved AI platforms.
  • Experience with acquisition, contracting, document-intensive workflows, or service-desk knowledge management.
  • Familiarity with DoD Responsible AI policy, RMF, model evaluation, and AI red-team practices.

Responsibilities

  • Translate contracting and service-management pain points into bounded AI/ML use cases with measurable mission outcomes.
  • Define integration patterns for Government-approved model endpoints, Appian workflows, authoritative data, and human review.
  • Establish evaluation plans for accuracy, completeness, groundedness, citation quality, workload reduction, adoption, and exception rates.
  • Design controls for data minimization, CUI and PII handling, role-based access, prompt/output logging, model and prompt versioning, and records retention.
  • Ensure AI recommendations remain advisory and authorized personnel retain contracting, diagnostic, approval, and release decisions.
  • Coordinate AI boundary, interconnection, and authorization impacts with cybersecurity, architecture, data, privacy, and legal stakeholders.
  • Assess Government-furnished AI services and commercial capabilities for mission fit, availability, cost, security, and lifecycle support.
  • Guide pilots for document generation, policy analysis, knowledge retrieval, service-desk diagnostics, and workflow assistance.
  • Monitor AI performance after release and recommend revision, limitation, retraining, or retirement when outcomes are not achieved.
  • Maintain use-case documentation, model cards or equivalent records, risk decisions, test results, and operational guidance.
  • Protect Controlled Unclassified Information and classified information when assigned, and comply with required access, training, and handling procedures.
  • Communicate clearly with Government, technical, and business stakeholders and maintain accurate work records in approved systems.
