About The Position

NorthHill Technology Resources is hiring AI/ML Engineers for direct-hire positions with a fast-growing Federal Integrator, supporting a federal program in Springfield, Virginia. An active TS/SCI clearance is required, and the role requires willingness to take a polygraph exam. The engineer will apply advanced AI and machine-learning methods to complex operational challenges, helping shape strategic direction for high-impact solutions. Working with software teams and mission users, the engineer will design, test, and deploy capabilities for critical remote-sensing needs in a demanding, data-rich environment. The role supports operators who use intelligent systems to scale mission effectiveness and advises stakeholders on suitable algorithms, tools, and frameworks. The project accelerates fusion of multi-sensor detections into persistent, time-critical object tracks. The work integrates AI/ML with GEOINT and sensor-fusion frameworks to support rapid, reliable operational decision-making. Understanding of OPIR image processing or expertise in missile systems, remote sensing, and sensor fusion is beneficial.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience delivering AI/ML-based solutions for object identification and classification.
  • At least 4 years of Python coding experience, including Python coding for AI/ML solutions.
  • Experience applying AI/ML to tracking, sensor fusion, or GEOINT data workflows.
  • Familiarity with real-time or near-real-time data processing for multi-sensor systems.
  • Experience with remote-sensing image processing, data exploitation, and algorithm development.
  • Experience with software configuration management using Git.
  • Ability to execute machine-learning models in a Linux environment.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to take a polygraph exam.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of experience for mid-level roles, or a bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience for senior-level roles.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong understanding of OPIR image processing or expertise in missile systems, remote sensing, and sensor fusion.
  • Experience with AWS.
  • Knowledge of sensor capabilities.
  • Background in multi-sensor data association, track correlation, or persistent-surveillance analytics.
  • Ability to work with limited guidance and clear direction.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with peers and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Apply advanced AI/ML methods to complex operational challenges.
  • Design, test, and deploy AI/ML capabilities with software teams and mission users.
  • Develop and implement capabilities for remote sensing and multi-sensor detection fusion into persistent, time-critical object tracks.
  • Guide stakeholders in selecting and applying algorithms, tools, and frameworks.
  • Integrate AI/ML with GEOINT and sensor-fusion frameworks to support operational decision-making.
