About The Position

Altamira Technologies is hiring an entry-level AI/ML Data Engineer to support the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines, data models, and analytics platforms. The role is intended for someone beginning a data engineering career who is eager to work with modern cloud, ETL, and automation technologies in a collaborative environment. The position is performed at the customer site in Tampa, Florida (Downtown), or Joint Base Andrews.

Requirements

10 years of experience with an MS/MA degree or equivalent experience.
TS/SCI security clearance.

Responsibilities

Build, test, and maintain scalable data ingestion and transformation pipelines.
Support ETL/ELT activities that move data from source systems to analytics environments.
Ensure data workflows are reliable, monitored, and documented.
Assist in designing and maintaining structured datasets for analytics, reporting, and machine learning use cases.
Help define data models, schemas, and metadata in governed data environments.
Perform routine data validation, profiling, and quality checks.
Collaborate with senior engineers on data governance and security best practices.
Document data flows, lineage, and standards.
Use cloud platforms to deploy data assets and support configuration, optimization, and maintenance of compute and storage resources.
Partner with analysts, data scientists, and product teams to understand data requirements.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and code reviews.
Contribute to continuous learning and improvements to engineering processes.
