AI Manager - Language Models (US Remote)
About The Position
We are seeking an AI Manager Language Models to guide the development and deployment of Large Language Model (LLM) machine learning solutions. In this role, you will bridge AI research and production engineering building reliable ML systems with an immediate focus on public safety application areas, including emergency 911 call handling, dispatch automation, and case management. You will support a collaborative team across the complete ML lifecycle, transforming state-of-the-art language technology into dependable, real-world solutions that assist first responders and safety professionals in public and enterprise settings.
Requirements
- 8+ years of combined experience as a machine learning researcher and/or a post-graduate degree in a quantitative science or engineering
- Including 2+ years of direct management experience leading technical teams.
- Previous experience managing an LLM-based solution from inception to market
- Previous experience managing cloud-based software engineering
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English
- Bachelors degree with 8+ years of machine learning experience
- AND 2+ years of direct management experience
Nice To Haves
- Experience developing software for public safety (police, fire, paramedic and other first responders) or enterprise (retail, farming, heavy industry)
- Experience managing engineers and researchers, and working horizontally with UI/UX and product management
- Experience incorporating UX guidance in LLM-driven design patterns, test patterns and training methodologies
- Knowledgeable of Machine Learning fundamentals and best practices
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of large language model driven machine learning solutions
- Work across all stages of the machine learning lifecycle, including data curation, model training, deployment, monitoring, evaluation, and feedback.
- Apply your knowledge to public safety application areas such as 911 call handling, dispatch, and case management, and enterprise applications in retail, commercial security, and infrastructure management
- Collaborate with infrastructure engineers and research scientists to build scalable machine learning products
- Create reusable components to support integration between research teams and production engineering
