About The Position

Are you curious about how AI and emerging technologies can strengthen organizations and improve the way people work? Avesta Housing is seeking an AI Innovation Fellow to support hands-on research, process improvement, and practical experimentation with technology in a mission-driven nonprofit setting. In this short-term fellowship, you’ll explore AI tools, collaborate with staff to understand operational challenges, and help design practical solutions that improve efficiency, communication, and effectiveness. It’s an opportunity to gain real-world experience translating innovation into impact while supporting Avesta’s mission to improve lives through quality, affordable housing. Requirements

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Ability to gather, synthesize, and present qualitative information.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, deadlines, and follow through on tasks.
• Current enrollment in, or recent completion of, an associate, bachelor’s or graduate degree program in a relevant field such as business, public policy, data analytics, computer science or other related area is preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered.
• Strong interest in artificial intelligence, automation, or emerging technologies.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with generative AI tools (e.g., large language models, workflow automation), workflow analysis, process mapping, or technology implementation support preferred.
• Experience with research, writing, project coordination, documentation, data organization or administrative support preferred.
