About The Position

We are a small, agile marketing team where everyone takes ownership, develops their own strategies, and implements them independently. Since consistently working with AI, we see significantly more growth opportunities than we can currently pursue. Therefore, we are looking for someone to oversee everything comprehensively, identify the biggest levers, and take them into their own hands. You will be responsible for end-to-end growth projects, on existing channels and on new ones you discover yourself. You will build, deploy live in the app, app store, or website, and then analyze the data. Processes are short, and the complete project cycle is yours. The position is initially limited to one year. We value long-term collaboration, so an extension or transition to a permanent position is aimed for.

Requirements

  • Strong AI skills: Daily use of AI tools like Claude Code, Codex, or similar, along with agents and automation. Ability to build your own pages, tools, and workflows and deploy them yourself, beyond just writing prompts.
  • Strong copywriting and storytelling: Ability to write texts that stand out and convert, finding the right words for students. Thinking in stories and benefits, not feature lists.
  • Independence and pace: Ability to take a topic and drive it to completion. Preferring to launch ten things and measure them over two perfect ones.
  • Numerical understanding: Ability to read funnels, work with analytics tools, and honestly evaluate tests, even if the results contradict your ideas.
  • An eye for design: Ability to recognize good design and assess when design drives conversion versus mere decoration. Familiarity with Figma.
  • Basic marketing understanding: Knowledge of how Paid, SEO, and Lifecycle marketing fundamentally work. Willingness to learn the details of individual channels with us.
  • Native-level German: Ability to write for our target audience on landing pages, in ads, in app stores, and offline.
  • Personal projects that can be showcased: Pages, tools, content, side projects. These are valued more than a CV.
  • Strong graduates are explicitly welcome, as are profiles with a few years of experience.

Nice To Haves

  • No classic design role. Taste and brand judgment are important, but the technical execution is handled by AI and freelancers.
  • Not a performance marketing job. Channels, budget, bidding, and attribution are handled elsewhere in the team.
  • Not a briefing role. You do the work yourself instead of delegating it.
  • Not a product role. You are not a Product Manager. You are responsible for user acquisition and work closely with the Product Team without taking on product responsibility.
  • Not a leadership role. You work closely within the Marketing Team and with the founding team, but do not manage employees. However, you have significantly more creative freedom.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities in our products: Regularly review the website, app stores, content, job boards, and the funnel up to premium to find areas with the greatest impact on registrations and revenue.
  • Recognize market opportunities: Look externally to identify current trends and platforms engaging our target audience, assess promising segments or markets for entry, identify growth channels to activate that we are not currently using, and analyze competitor activities.
  • Evaluate and prioritize opportunities: Estimate realistic potential and impact, and present a shortlist to the team.
  • Build and deploy independently: Create landing pages, tests, and campaign components using AI and publish them yourself. No tickets for engineering, no waiting for design, no queues.
  • Test and measure: Set up A/B tests on the website, in app stores, and on other platforms, analyze them thoroughly, and iterate.
  • App Store Optimization: Continuously test screenshots, icons, titles, and descriptions.
  • Acquisition and early funnel: Focus on acquiring new users. Collaborate with the Product Team to evaluate which target groups and channels yield the best LTV, and subsequently improve the signup and activation flows in the early funnel.
  • Copy and messaging: Formulate the benefits of StudySmarter for learners in a way that resonates with our target audience and converts. This includes headlines on landing pages, ad copy, video scripts, poster designs, and more.
  • Content and campaigns with AI: AI content projects, brand building for our job boards, out-of-home campaigns.
  • Build a Love Brand: Co-develop a global Love Brand for B2C and B2B, shaping how StudySmarter looks and sounds.
