About The Position

As an AI Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll create scalable, secure environments for AI-deployed code and partner directly with clients to bring new capabilities to life in their environments. This role involves collaborating directly with government and enterprise clients to mutually architect, integrate, and deploy systems and capabilities. You will architect services, microservices, and API endpoints, and be responsible for deploying and maintaining user application and prototyping platforms, owning uptime and reliability. Additionally, you will build and operate secure, compliant cloud environments that meet government and client accreditation standards, and manage infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and observability across commercial and government cloud contexts.

Requirements

  • Experienced software engineer with a forward-deployed background and a modern AI perspective.
  • Experience working on government projects in GovCloud, FedRAMP, or IL-4/IL-5 environments.
  • Managed cloud environments in both commercial and government contexts, experienced across major cloud ecosystems, with depth in AWS.
  • Comfortable sitting alongside clients to mutually architect and integrate systems and capabilities, translating their mission into working software.
  • Engineer who codes with AI as a first-class tool.
  • Pair traditional technical training with a forward-leaning approach to agentic coding, rapid prototyping, and multi-agent workflows.
  • US Citizen
  • 4+ years of professional experience, including graduate or Ph.D. work if relevant
  • Technical education; post-graduate education preferred
  • Forward-leaning in AI coding, with traditional technical training as a foundation
  • Hands-on with AI coding tools and agentic workflows (Claude Code, GPT/Codex, Cursor, Windsurf), including multi-agent approaches for testing and validation
  • Strong programming foundation: Python, Scala, Java, R
  • Strong AWS cloud management experience (ECS, RDS, S3, Cognito, Bedrock) and equivalent ecosystems
  • Infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation), containerization and orchestration (Docker, ECS/EKS/Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with government cloud accreditation and security standards — FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, DoD IL-4/IL-5, STIGs
  • Forward-deployed experience: comfortable collaborating directly with clients to architect and integrate systems, and willing to work on-site at client or government locations as needed
  • Self-driven, mission-driven, curious, and constructive; startup mindset with strong communication skills
  • Ability to provide references and meet in person
