AI-First Engineering Intern

XsollaRaleigh, NC
$20 - $25

About The Position

Xsolla is looking for AI Engineer Interns to help drive the company's AI-first initiative. Interns will work on internal AI initiatives to accelerate AI tooling and integrations, and build proof-of-concept projects using Xsolla's APIs. This is a hands-on role where interns will ship code that reaches customers, working closely with senior engineers and a global cohort of interns. The internship focuses on building and integrating AI into workflows, not just theoretical application.

Requirements

  • Build things because you want to, and already use AI to do it faster.
  • Genuine passion for building, demonstrated through side projects, hackathon entries, open-source contributions, or self-initiated shipped projects.
  • Real AI fluency, with experience using tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar agentic coding tools to build something.
  • Ability to explain how AI was used to achieve a result and how its effectiveness was confirmed.
  • Bias toward action: starting to build before asking for a detailed specification when faced with an ambiguous problem.
  • Comfort with developing modern full-stack solutions; emphasis on learning speed over existing knowledge.
  • Currently an undergraduate student, graduate student, or recent graduate of a Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related program.
  • Open to pursuing a graduate degree and taking on an internship-level role for hands-on AI experience.

Responsibilities

  • Partner and collaborate with senior engineers to identify where AI tooling and integrations can remove friction, and build the fix.
  • Build applications and integrations on top of Xsolla's APIs and SDKs that show internal teams how to move faster using AI-assisted development.
  • Ship work that matters, with the expectation that what is built will reach real users (internal tools or customer-facing integrations).
  • Use agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) as a default way of working.
  • Share work through weekly lightning-talk demos, showcasing AI problem-solving.
  • Work with minimal process, taking ownership of figuring out and building solutions after receiving context and a problem statement.
  • Learn from and collaborate with senior engineers on production-grade practices and with fellow interns across markets.

Benefits

  • Competitive hourly wage ($20 - $25/hour)
  • Opportunity to ship code that reaches real users.
  • Mentorship from senior engineers.
  • Collaboration with a global cohort of interns.
  • Hands-on experience with AI tooling and integrations.
  • Background check may include criminal history, employment verification, and education verification.
