About The Position

C10 Labs is seeking an AI Fellow with experience or a strong interest in energy, climate technology, utilities, or sustainable infrastructure to support the AI Nexus NYC venture studio. The Fellow will work with founders and the C10 Labs team to evaluate new venture opportunities, research energy and climate markets, support customer discovery, and identify prospective customers, partners, and pilot sites. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone interested in applying artificial intelligence to energy systems, infrastructure, decarbonization, and climate-related challenges.

Requirements

  • Current graduate student, recent graduate, researcher, operator, or industry professional.
  • Experience or academic exposure in energy, climate science, engineering, sustainability, computer science, AI, or a related field.
  • Understanding of AI, machine learning, data science, or digital infrastructure.
  • Strong research, analysis, and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate technical and market insights into practical business opportunities.
  • Interest in startups, venture creation, and early-stage company building.
  • Ability to work independently in an ambiguous and fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Research emerging opportunities across energy, climate technology, utilities, and sustainable infrastructure.
  • Identify operational, technical, and commercial challenges that could be addressed through AI.
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer discovery.
  • Evaluate startups, founders, technologies, and potential venture concepts.
  • Map utilities, energy companies, building operators, infrastructure providers, government agencies, and prospective pilot partners.
  • Identify customers, decision-makers, investors, research institutions, and strategic partners.
  • Support founders with product positioning, pilot development, and commercialization.
  • Help assess market, regulatory, economic, and adoption considerations.
  • Prepare company profiles, research briefs, presentations, and investor materials.
  • Participate in founder meetings, mentor sessions, and program activities.
  • Track project milestones, findings, and recommended next steps.
