About The Position

As an AI Engineer at Independent Bank, you’ll be at the forefront of innovation—developing, deploying, and maintaining cutting-edge generative AI models, including those from OpenAI, Azure, and VAPI. You’ll partner with cross-functional teams to design and implement AI-driven solutions that solve complex business challenges, all while upholding the highest standards of performance, accuracy, and security.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 1+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML projects, with a focus on generative AI models.
• 1+ years of experience with generative AI models, especially those from OpenAI, Azure, and VAPI.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, R, or JavaScript.
• Strong understanding of machine learning concepts, neural networks, and natural language processing.
• Experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure and AWS for deploying AI models.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize model performance.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and methodologies.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Knowledge of data privacy, security, and AI governance.

Nice To Haves

• Relevant certifications or coursework in AI/ML are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement generative AI models using platforms such as OpenAI, Azure, and VAPI.
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to define AI use cases and integrate AI models into existing systems.
• Conduct rigorous testing, validation, and tuning of AI models to ensure optimal accuracy and performance.
• Preprocess and manage training datasets, ensuring data quality and integrity.
• Deploy AI models to production environments and monitor their performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AI model deployment and operation.
• Continuously evaluate the latest advancements in AI and incorporate relevant technologies into the organization’s AI strategy.
• Develop and maintain documentation for AI models, including design decisions, implementation processes, and usage guidelines.
• Ensure that all AI solutions adhere to data privacy, security, and responsible AI guidelines.
• Work closely with management to align AI initiatives with business objectives.
• Provide support and training to internal teams on the usage and management of AI models.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
