About The Position

As an AI Engineer on the Digital Products & AI team, you will work directly with clients to shape, design, and build production digital products, AI agents, intelligent workflows, and modernized platforms. You will collaborate with Product Strategists and Data Engineers to take solutions from discovery through deployment, applying technical depth and a practical understanding of client needs. Some engagements may continue after launch, allowing you to remain involved with the product and its impact. This is a hands-on engineering role in a delivery model where AI agents write much of the code. You will write code, review agent-generated outputs, and apply engineering judgment to architecture, controls, and acceptance criteria. You will also help define problems when requirements are unclear while keeping delivery moving. The work emphasizes production outcomes rather than pilots or demos.

Requirements

Experience building and operating production software.
Client-facing technical delivery experience at senior levels.
Strong software engineering skills, ideally including Python and TypeScript.
Experience designing and delivering cloud-native systems on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Hands-on experience building AI applications and agent-based systems in production.
Experience with orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or similar, and judgment about when an orchestration layer is warranted.
Experience building retrieval-enabled systems and working with technologies such as pgvector, Elasticsearch, or OpenSearch; understanding of trade-offs among retrieval quality, latency, and cost.
Experience integrating applications with enterprise systems, data platforms, APIs, identity providers, and MCP-enabled services.
Strong technical judgment and communication skills, and ability to navigate ambiguity while working directly with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to balance delivery speed with quality, security, and long-term maintainability.

Experience delivering solutions in consulting or professional services, or experience as a technical founder.
Experience in healthcare and life sciences, manufacturing, energy and utilities, transportation, or consumer industries.
Experience building reusable platforms, tooling, or AI solutions in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

Architect production AI solutions, including tool selection, memory and context management, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop controls.
Build and deploy technical components for agentic systems, including retrieval pipelines, MCP services and integrations, and connections to enterprise data and processes.
Modernize platforms and applications to meet current business needs, rebuilding where necessary rather than merely migrating legacy functionality.
Design security and operational resilience into solutions, including access controls, identity management, deployment guardrails, and oversight of automated actions.
Break complex problems into deliverable components and help shape scope, sequencing, and implementation approaches for rapid delivery.
Create reusable patterns, skills, and tooling that strengthen future engagements and contribute to capability growth.
Write code, review agent-generated outputs, and shape architecture, controls, and acceptance criteria.
Work with clients and multidisciplinary teams to take products from discovery through deployment.
