What you will be doing: The Ai Engineer (Data Intelligence Analyst) works with end-user requests to detail moderately to sophisticated business requirements, data definitions, business rules, and data quality requirements support of enterprise data intelligence projects. Creates specifications for reports and analysis based on business/clinical needs and data elements required or available. Produces data sets, reports, ad-hoc requests, dashboards, etc. Conducts data analysis in support of a variety of analytic solutions. Provide the specialized expertise needed to build, validate, and operationalize AI and analytics solutions in a secure healthcare environment. This role will support Azure Fabric migration by developing reusable data models, pipelines, semantic layers, AI-ready datasets, and governance-aligned reporting assets. Accelerate delivery of predictive analytics, natural language processing, automation, anomaly detection, and self-service intelligence to reduce manual analysis, surface risks earlier, and improve decision speed across the organization. Demonstrates a strong understanding of report analysis and development. Triages intake of data requests and seeks an understanding of business needs. Applies knowledge of healthcare and critical thinking skills in the analysis of business request and makes recommendations for solution/s to solve challenges. Provides sophisticated report and data analysis with the help of team members, vendors, and/or other EIS department contacts; provides quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting of patterns, insights, and trends to decision-makers. Participates in re-engineering, as needed, operational work-flow processes with end-users/business owners. Solid understanding of build concepts, Epic migration paths, change control process/governance, and ticket management process. Leads and evaluates process and requirements analysis, including process mapping though current flow charts, documents, future needs/plans, requirement elicitation, stakeholder analysis, and specification gathering on complex projects. In addition, using current and projected data, provides recommendations. Serves as the primary point of contact for vendor support and assistance for larger and more complex projects as well as in resolving increasingly complex or critical issues in assigned areas. Handles relationship with external vendors. Independently provides guidance and leadership on quality assurance and testing initiatives. Demonstrates ability to lead team through complex integrated testing processes. Manages testing projects as necessary. Contributes to strategy discussions by proactively identifying options with associated pros and cons with EIS team members and others.

Requirements

  • Three (3) plus years’ experience with SQL and demonstrated ability with a range of query tools such as Python, R, Oracle, Microsoft SQL, Tableau, etc.
  • Developing Epic Clarity reports preferred.
  • Hands on experience performing reporting analysis and developing custom reports.
  • Familiarity with databases used in patient care, administrative applications for hospitals, and data warehousing technology.
  • Experience analyzing basic to moderately sophisticated Clarity report requests, Reporting Workbench and Radar build requests.
  • Demonstrated understanding of healthcare applications as well as the needs and priorities of patient care providers.
  • Technical proficiency in Reporting Workbench and Radar build.
  • Able to teach sophisticated Reporting Workbench and Radar build concepts.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required. (coursework in quantitative field, preferred).
  • Epic Certification preferred.
  • SQL Server certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of report analysis and development, and applies expertise to help meet customer goals and outcomes; triages intake of data requests and seeks an understanding of business needs; trains end-users and staff as necessary.
  • Applies knowledge of healthcare and critical thinking skills in the analysis of business requests and makes recommendations for solution/s to solve challenges.
  • Provides moderately complex to complex report and data analysis with the help of more senior team members, vendors, and/or other EIS department contacts; provides quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting of patterns, insights, and trends to decision-makers.
  • Writes SQL codes to support reports and data analysis.
  • Works closely with application teams to understand workflow, documentation standards, and potential gaps. Makes recommendations for closing gaps.
  • Gathers clear and concise requirements for basic to medium complexity requests, interprets the findings, and translates the information into a documented business specification for report development; documents specifications in an organized manner, demonstrate knowledge of understanding request, tools that can be applied, and developed to present to the requestor.
  • Works closely with report developers (including Enterprise Data Warehouse and other reporting teams)to ensure understanding of data models and design of output.
  • Performs data scrubbing, troubleshooting and quality checking prior to delivery of results.
  • Manages low to medium complexity projects and may serve as the central point of contact for smaller/medium complex projects.
  • Collaborates with team members as needed; may be independently responsible for completing tasks/assignments depending on the size of the project, including status reporting, requirement gathering, project scoping, vendor research, project planning, documentation, resources planning, and impact analysis.
  • Demonstrate a working understanding of fundamental project management methodologies and components of the project lifecycle; may independently work with external vendors in support of team projects, as well as resolving new issues, and coordinating patches/upgrades within assigned areas.
  • Performs working level process and requirement analysis, including process mapping through current flow charts, documents, future needs/plans, requirement elicitation, stakeholder analysis, and specification gathering in support of team projects and small/medium managed projects.
  • Develops to demonstrate a strong understanding of build concepts, Epic migration paths, change control process/governance, and ticket management process.
