About The Position

Alaffia is a Series B healthtech startup based in NYC that is building AI software and delivering tech-enabled services to health plans. The company aims to reduce improper payments and administrative waste in the healthcare system. The AI Enablement Lead will be responsible for driving AI adoption, deployment, and scaling across all functions of the company, reporting to the VP of Finance and Operations with a direct line to the COO and CEO. This role requires a hands-on approach to identify AI opportunities, build and deploy solutions, and manage the overall AI transformation roadmap. The goal is to make Alaffia an AI-native company and a visible exemplar of AI integration.

Requirements

  • 6–10+ years of experience spanning business operations, strategy consulting, product, or an applied AI/engineering role at a high-growth tech company.
  • Demonstrable, hands-on experience deploying AI and automation in a business context.
  • Technical fluency in modern AI tooling (LLM APIs, RAG, agents, evals, prompt engineering), workflow automation platforms, and data pipelines.
  • Ability to prototype solutions and participate in technical design reviews.
  • Strong business and financial instincts, including building ROI models and defending prioritization decisions with data.
  • Executive presence and ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Track record of driving adoption through organizational change.
  • Bias to action and comfort with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intellectual honesty about AI capabilities and limitations.
  • Outcomes-oriented operator motivated by measurable business impact.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a healthcare, tech-enabled services, professional services, or B2B SaaS environment.
  • Experience working on the economics of a services delivery organization.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the internal AI Leader, accountable for AI adoption, deployment, and scaling across all company functions.
  • Partner with functional leaders to identify high-leverage AI applications for workflow automation, service delivery, margin improvement, and capacity enhancement.
  • Set the AI vision and roadmap, and also prototype, deploy, and iterate on AI solutions.
  • Build the internal operating system for AI, including build-vs-buy decisions, governance, rollout playbooks, change management, and measurement standards.
  • Make Alaffia a visible exemplar of an AI-native company.
  • Own the enterprise AI transformation roadmap end-to-end, sequencing near-term wins and long-horizon investments.
  • Run an opportunity identification process, mapping workflows, quantifying time/cost, and prioritizing use cases by ROI, feasibility, and strategic fit.
  • Build, test, and deploy AI solutions hands-on, including prompt engineering, agents, automations, and low-code workflows.
  • Develop and defend build-vs-buy decisions with business cases and track progress against KPIs.
  • Drive AI adoption through enablement programs, office hours, and change management.
  • Partner with Services leadership to embed AI into customer-facing delivery to reduce cost-to-serve and improve quality.
  • Establish responsible-AI guardrails in partnership with Legal, Security, and Engineering.
  • Report transformation KPIs and realized value to the executive team and investors.
  • Track the AI frontier (models, tools, trends) and translate relevant insights into prioritized pilots and internal guidance.
