As a member of the Products & Regulatory Legal Group, you will work with Apple’s procurement, engineering, and operations teams to help create and introduce Apple products to the world. With passion, dedication, and a desire to tackle challenges, you will play a crucial role as we provide the legal support needed for Apple to continue to build cutting-edge technologies. You will join a team of attorneys in the Products & Regulatory Legal Group who support the relationships with third parties that drive research and development of generative artificial intelligence features. You will draft and negotiate agreements with third parties to integrate AI models into internal and external tools, to create, license, and modify data to train AI features, and to leverage compute and storage resources to do so. You’ll advise the business in the day-to-day work with those third parties, and in the related development of artificial intelligence features. This work will require close collaboration with subject matter experts across legal teams, including privacy, intellectual property, export compliance, and product counseling. The candidate must have experience managing a large docket of deals and be able to solve highly complex issues in creative and effective ways, while maintaining an acceptable level of legal risk in a fast-paced environment. You will also advise Apple management on risk allocation/mitigation, business strategies, and policies.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience with general transactional matters
• JD degree or equivalent and admission to at least one US state bar
• Experience with artificial intelligence, intellectual property, privacy, export compliance, or user study research issues
• Experience drafting and negotiating complex agreements
• Ability to handle your own high-volume workload on day-to-day matters
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple range of matters supporting multiple cross-functional teams
• Ability to distill complex legal concepts into practical guidance for non-lawyers
• Crisp and clear communication style
• Ability to advise executive management
• Ability to facilitate teamwork by cultivating relationships, counseling, collaborating, and effectively communicating with teammates and cross-functional partners
• Positive attitude
• Ability to see beyond the precise question asked to larger issues and implications

Responsibilities
