AI Creative Technology Director (Freelance)
About The Position
Addition is R/GA's applied intelligence studio, partnering with leading brands to solve problems at the intersection of frontier AI and human-centered design. They specialize in bespoke AI engineering, technical product innovation, and integrating AI into enterprise organizations to create value through improved communications, customer experiences, and internal workflows. This hands-on role is a builder-first position (75%+ time in a repo) focused on shipping agent pipelines, MCP servers, plugins, generative video systems, and voice agents for major brand clients. The ideal candidate is driven by curiosity, balances speed and rigor, and embraces problem-solving.
Requirements
- 6+ years in design, strategy, product management, or a related tech-forward environment
- Track record of leading accounts across multiple clients and verticals, including Fortune 500 brands and large-scale platforms
- Strong showcase of past projects (deployed repos, working agentic systems, live demos) demonstrating equal strength in high-craft creative output and technical execution
- Hands-on experience with production-ready stacks (Python, TypeScript, agent SDKs, MCP, GCP, etc.) and modern AI models
- Skilled at shaping AI-integrated workflows to accelerate, enhance, or rethink deliverables
- Strong instincts for systematizing creativity without stifling it
- Experience building scalable frameworks, modular systems, and efficient process designs
- Ability to balance brand, audience, and business goals against the possibilities and constraints of emerging tech
- Ability to see both the high-level strategy and the technical execution
- Must be located within the United States
