About The Position

Maarif School is seeking a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and innovative AI & Computer Science Teacher to teach middle and high school students. The teacher will make computer science, artificial intelligence, and technology concepts engaging and accessible, develop age-appropriate lessons aligned with curriculum standards, and provide hands-on learning through coding projects, AI applications, and other technology-based activities. The role includes assessing student progress, promoting responsible and ethical use of digital technologies, maintaining a positive and structured classroom, and collaborating with school administration and faculty to support academic goals.

Maarif School is a Pre-K through 12th-grade private school operating under the auspices of Maarif Foundation USA. It teaches core subjects as well as Turkish, Arabic, Islamic studies, and Qur’an, and emphasizes intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, Islamic manners and ethics, social and emotional learning, and individual attention through small class sizes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Education, or a related field.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with AI tools, machine learning concepts, and educational technology.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to students with different learning abilities.
• Passion for education, innovation, and student development.

Nice To Haves

• Teaching experience in middle or high school.
• New Jersey teaching certification.
• Experience teaching coding, robotics, or STEM-related subjects.
• Familiarity with AI platforms and tools such as ChatGPT and other educational AI applications.
• Experience developing project-based and interactive learning activities.
• Ability to integrate technology into classroom instruction.

Responsibilities

• Teach computer science and artificial intelligence courses to middle and high school students.
• Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards.
• Introduce students to programming, coding, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies.
• Teach computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, computational thinking, and problem-solving.
• Provide hands-on learning experiences through coding projects, AI applications, and technology-based activities.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Promote responsible and ethical use of AI and digital technologies.
• Maintain a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment.
