About The Position

This role is designed for a founder minded operator who thrives in ambiguity and is driven to build from zero to one. As the AI Business Lead, you will take ownership of the commercial side of a new venture, validating demand, generating early revenue, and shaping the go to market strategy before a product is fully built. You will operate independently in the earliest stages, proving traction through direct customer engagement, then partner closely with a Technical Lead to build and scale the business. Your work directly determines what gets built, why it matters, and how it generates revenue. Martell Ventures exists to build people, brands, and ventures that create meaningful impact. Requirements

  • Founder or co-founder experience in a B2B SaaS company with proven MRR
  • Strong founder-led sales experience, particularly selling to SMB customers
  • Demonstrated ability to self-generate pipeline and close deals independently
  • Deep understanding of customer needs with strong voice-of-customer instincts
  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-changing, ambiguous environments
  • High ownership mindset with focus on execution and results
  • Full-time commitment with in-office presence in Kelowna after 90 days
  • Proven experience as a SaaS founder or co-founder with revenue ownership
  • Ability to independently build pipeline and close early customers
  • Strong execution bias with comfort operating in zero to one environments
  • Customer-first mindset with discipline to prioritize paid demand
  • Willingness to work in-office in Kelowna full-time after initial period

  • Familiarity with no-code tools for rapid validation and iteration

Responsibilities

  • Defining the ideal customer profile, offer, and pricing strategy
  • Building and executing outbound pipeline generation from day one
  • Running daily sales activity and managing the full sales cycle
  • Closing early paying customers prior to full product development
  • Delivering value through concierge style solutions in early stages
  • Capturing customer insights and translating them into product direction
  • Partnering with a Technical Lead to co-build and scale the venture
  • Reporting on performance and participating in growth reviews
  • Building repeatable sales, onboarding, and delivery processes
