About The Position

Booz Allen is seeking a software engineer to create full-stack applications integrating enterprise AI and machine learning services, including large language models (LLMs), for HR and people operations users. The role involves designing and delivering secure, scalable applications that account for existing architecture and operating environments while supporting future functionality and enhancements. The engineer will integrate enterprise AI services, such as LLMs and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), with web stacks and SQL data stores to provide intuitive and reliable user experiences.

The position includes developing HR and training software applications and management solutions for operational environments at the corporate and below levels. The engineer will work with product, data, and security stakeholders to turn practical AI use cases into production-ready solutions that streamline workflows and surface insights. Work includes building data and retrieval pipelines, performing ETL into SQL data layers, and applying data-quality, access-control, auditability, and privacy practices. Applicants must hold an active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph and complete Booz Allen’s required skills assessment, meeting its minimum proficiency threshold to continue in the hiring process.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience building production web applications and services using C# and .NET.
• At least 2 years of experience with jQuery, SQL, or XML.
• At least 2 years of experience with JavaScript and a JavaScript framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.
• Experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
• Experience with cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, GCP, or Oracle Cloud.
• Knowledge of AI systems architecture, AI platforms, or ML flow.
• TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Security+, SSCP, CISSP, CCNA, or GSEC certification.
• Completion of the required skills assessment and achievement of the minimum proficiency threshold to continue in the hiring process.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with HR systems such as Workday or knowledge management platforms such as SharePoint or Confluence.
• Experience administering CI/CD pipelines using Kubernetes, Docker, or Jenkins.
• Experience with LimeSurvey, Tableau, SharePoint, ServiceNow, and Learning Management Systems.
• Knowledge of security and privacy controls, including RBAC, data minimization, encryption, and safe-use policies for AI.
• Master’s degree.
• ML, AI, or Solution Architecture certification.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications, including front ends, APIs, services, data tiers, and SQL database integrations.
• Integrate enterprise AI platforms and architectures, including LLMs and RAG pipelines, into HR applications such as policy and knowledge-base search, document summarization, and contextual workflow insights.
• Design, develop, implement, and maintain HR and training software applications and management solutions in operational environments at the corporate and below levels.
• Build reliable retrieval and data-processing pipelines using internal and approved external data, and perform ETL from source systems into the SQL data layer.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and security across systems, applying role-based access, auditability, and privacy-aware design when handling enterprise data.
• Implement retrieval-based solutions using internal documents, APIs, and databases, optimizing prompts, flows, embeddings, and vector search for performance and accuracy.
• Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to identify high-value AI use cases and tune AI-enabled features for performance, cost, and reliability.
