About The Position

We are seeking an experienced data scientist, AI/ML engineer, or AI product manager who is interested in expanding into product ownership of NLP and Generative AI products. The role focuses on turning machine learning, large language model (LLM), and Agentic AI prototypes into reliable, maintainable services that generate insights from unstructured and semi-structured data across the company’s research and development pipeline. The position is part of an AI capability engineering team and is embedded in a cross-disciplinary group of data scientists, bioinformaticians, engineers, and scientific subject matter experts working to apply AI/ML and data science to drug discovery and development. The employee will be mentored by a senior product manager and work with data scientists, developers, and scientific experts. As the role develops, the employee may own one or more products, leading product discovery, requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, and adoption.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in data science, AI/ML engineering, Agentic AI, AI product management, or a related discipline.
  • High school diploma.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Biomedical Informatics, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, git, and data manipulation libraries such as Pandas.
  • Ability to translate complex data science concepts for cross-functional stakeholders and willingness to acquire domain knowledge.
  • Eagerness to transition into product management, with prior exposure to drafting technical requirements, defining success metrics, or structuring user stories.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience establishing model evaluation frameworks, such as defining LLM benchmarks or measuring precision and recall for NLP tasks.
  • Hands-on experience or academic familiarity with NLP techniques and tools such as Hugging Face, spaCy, or LangChain.
  • Exposure to Agentic AI frameworks such as LangGraph.
  • Practical exposure to LLM workflows, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering, and fine-tuning paradigms.
  • Familiarity with AI coding assistants.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business partners and scientists to understand operational pain points, identify high-value opportunities, and translate ambiguous needs into technical user stories.
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog and organize it for regular deliveries.
  • Author requirements, acceptance criteria, and value capture plans that establish a shared definition of success for technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate features, lead user enablement sessions, gather structured feedback, and measure adoption metrics to support continuous product refinement.
  • Conduct exploratory analysis of partners’ structured and unstructured data and assess how it can address their needs.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teammates to integrate data science prototypes into reliable, production-ready pipelines that follow software engineering best practices.
  • Establish evaluation metrics and confirm that model performance is sufficient for the business need.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, vision, and other insurance benefits for employees and families.
  • Retirement benefits, including 401(k).
  • Paid holidays, vacation, compassionate days, and sick days.
