AI Analyst, Government, Education and Non-Profit Advisory

JLLWashington, DC
$65,000 - $75,000Hybrid

About The Position

JLL's Government, Education and Non-Profit (GEN) Advisory group is building a working AI infrastructure to support how we run the business and deliver client work. This is a hybrid real estate advisory and AI practitioner role for someone who wants to learn the real estate consulting business while simultaneously becoming expert in applying AI tools to the real problems faced by our internal teams and mission-driven clients. The goal is to use AI tools to compress the time it takes to do advisory work at high quality, so our team can focus on the creative, complex thinking that drives real value for clients. This role is about building human-machine teams that work smarter, where AI handles the repeatable and our people lead on the strategic. The impact extends beyond efficiency: by transforming how we work, we help public sector and mission-driven clients make faster, better-informed decisions that advance their missions and serve their communities. As AI Analyst, you will work at the intersection of that vision and daily reality: understanding what the team actually needs, building the tools and workflows to deliver it, and supporting the client work directly as a real estate analyst in your own right.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business, Finance, Information Systems, Systems Engineer, Urban Planning, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience; internship, academic project, or personal project experience in AI tools, real estate, consulting, or a related area is valued.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with AI tools, particularly large language models like Claude, ChatGPT, or similar beyond casual use. You should be able to speak concretely about how you’ve used them to accomplish something.
  • Genuine curiosity about AI and how it applies to professional work, meaning you follow this space, you experiment, and you have opinions about what works.
  • Strong written communication: you can write clearly for professional audiences and understand that good prompt engineering is, at its core, good writing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with SharePoint or similar platforms.
  • Analytical aptitude, comfort working with data, building structured outputs, and synthesizing information from multiple sources.
  • Systems thinker: you see workflow problems as design problems and look for root causes rather than workarounds.
  • Collaborative, creative, and low-ego: this role requires working closely with senior advisors, understanding their real needs, and building tools that fit the way they actually work.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with prompt engineering techniques, retrieval-augmented generation, or AI workflow design.
  • Exposure to real estate, government, higher education, or other public sector contexts.
  • Experience with SharePoint Lists, Power Automate, or similar Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Coursework or project work in public policy, urban planning, or public finance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and refine AI-powered workflows that support research synthesis, deliverable drafting, proposal coordination, market analysis, and knowledge management.
  • Develop and maintain a library of prompt templates calibrated to GEN Advisory’s specific work.
  • Manage the practice’s AI knowledge base: organize past project materials, methodologies, and reference content so they are accessible to AI platforms as context for future work.
  • Identify bottlenecks in current workflows where AI assistance would have the highest impact; prototype solutions and bring them to the team for feedback.
  • Support integration between AI, SharePoint, Salesforce, and other practice tools as those connections are developed.
  • Apply AI tools to operations functions: utilization tracking, assignment pipeline reporting, revenue data synthesis, and team reporting, working in coordination with the Director of Operations.
  • Help build and maintain structured data systems that support practice management visibility.
  • Draft internal communications, process documentation, and onboarding materials with AI assistance.
  • Monitor AI tool performance and adoption across the team; gather feedback and iterate on what’s working.
  • Conduct market research, demographic analysis, and comparable transaction research to support active client engagements.
  • Assist with financial modeling, development pro formas, lease comparisons, portfolio cost analyses, all under direction of senior advisors.
  • Prepare sections of client presentations, reports, and meeting materials; learn to frame technical findings for executive and governing board audiences.
  • Participate in client meetings and project team working sessions, building your understanding of public sector real estate advisory alongside your AI work.
  • Contribute to proposals: research, content development, and coordination support for RFP responses.
