About The Position

Scale AI's Advisory practice is a strategic initiative focused on shaping AI problems for clients before development begins, aiming to secure larger contracts and drive predictable execution. Advisory serves as a discovery and scoping phase preceding delivery, intended to become Scale's primary engagement method with new enterprise clients by 2027. The AI Advisory Consultant is central to these engagements, working alongside a Principal to conduct research, synthesize findings, size impact, and prepare workshop materials. This role involves day-to-day engagement management, including owning timelines, trackers, and coordination across Solutions Engineering and Design to ensure projects stay on track from kickoff to final readout. It is a delivery-focused role with direct contributions to advisory work and a clear path towards the AI Advisory Principal track.

Requirements

3+ years of work experience, ideally with consultant-equivalent experience at a Tier 1 firm (McKinsey, Bain, BCG).
Experience on AI strategy or transformation projects is strongly preferred.
A track record of structured, analytics-driven problem-solving, with the ability to transform ambiguous inputs into clear, defensible points of view.
Excellent communication skills, capable of producing clean, exec-ready first drafts of findings and materials with minimal editing.
Demonstrated diligence and organization across multiple workstreams, with the ability to own trackers and details under time pressure.
Technical credibility, with the curiosity to challenge engineering leads on architecture or accuracy when necessary.
Hands-on experience with Generative AI in daily work, with concrete examples of using AI tools to increase efficiency.
Commercial instinct, with the ability to articulate ROI and identify upsell opportunities.
Willingness to travel 30-60 percent, potentially including international trips.

Nice To Haves

0-to-1 experience developing or deploying GenAI applications in an enterprise setting.
Exposure to enterprise AI or one of Scale's target verticals (Consumer, Financial & Professional Services, Healthcare & Life Sciences).
Experience designing and synthesizing design-thinking workshops.

Responsibilities

Deliver the core advisory work, producing market research, impact sizing, synthesis, and workshop materials alongside the Principal.
Manage the engagement day-to-day, owning timelines, trackers, and serving as the single source of truth for monitoring open items and follow-ups across Solutions Engineering and Design.
Integrate technical and feasibility findings from the Solutions Engineering workstream into readouts to ensure a coherent engagement narrative.
Prepare research and supporting materials for client conversations and assist the Principal in developing vertical thought leadership.
Document debrief notes, findings, and structured hand-offs to convert engagements into reusable knowledge and improve the advisory playbook.
Identify opportunities to automate or templatize team workflows (e.g., recaps, status tracking, synthesized readouts) and build AI-powered solutions to improve efficiency.
Set up baseline measurement and tracking for engagements.
