Under the direction of the Energy Marketing Manager, this role is accountable for profitable sales and market share growth of assigned products and services. Requirements

  • Daily independent travel within the trade area with occasional overnight stays.
  • Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
  • Associates Degree in agriculture or business is preferred or a minimum of three years' experience in a related field and in agricultural sales.
  • Employment is contingent on, among other things, receipt of an acceptable and job-related background check, drug test, motor vehicle report, and/or reference check, as applicable and permissible by law.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and initiates sales calls of assigned products with an emphasis on seed, crop protection, plant food, and precision supported programs with targeted growers for Dubuque County.
  • Develops a high level of personal trust with the ability to influence grower purchasing decisions.
  • Displays high level of active sales skills with the ability to close sales calls.
  • Identifies buying motives, handles objections, and meets sales goals.
  • Develops whole farm proposals that create differentiation in the marketing place to profitably grow seed, crop protection, plant food, and precision volumes.
  • Actively calls on accounts and prospects.
  • Personally knows the top 10 accounts at location.
  • Attains and maintains technical and sales skills to certification standards.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by their manager.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on Three Rivers FS and GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours during peak seasons.
  • Follows Three Rivers FS’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.
