About The Position

Central Ohio Farmers Co-op, Inc. (COFC) is dedicated to providing its members with quality products and services, fostering strong customer relationships to deliver the right products at the right times. COFC is seeking an Agronomy Sales Specialist to join the Mt. Gilead Team. This role involves working with growers to promote cooperative programs for product marketing (including seed), services, and application to enhance market share and efficiency. Key responsibilities include field scouting, making recommendations, and coordinating application scheduling with management.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in an agriculture program and/or position.
  • Knowledge of agronomic practices and applications relative to seed, fertilizer, soils, and ag-chemicals.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Must have an acceptable motor vehicle record and no DUI's or OVI's within the past five years.
  • The employee must meet the qualifications set forth in COFC’s motor vehicle safety policy.

Responsibilities

  • Basic knowledge of all chemicals and their abilities of control.
  • Use the assigned software to accurately record sales orders and quotes with correct credit terms.
  • Responsible for growing and maintaining customer relationships within an assigned territory.
  • Available to assist other departments in their peak seasons.
  • Acquire the proper job related licenses and certifications.
  • Perform other duties that may be directed by the supervisor.
  • Compile lists of current and prospective customers for use as sales leads.
  • Must know, understand and comply with all safety and government regulations.
